Session 10: Cards on the Table Empty Session 10: Cards on the Table

Well, this session was no subtle bunny if that's ever a thing. So, gonna hop into it and just get this bad boy hashed out.

We found out Tyrus was performing experiments on the tieflings. He took it upon himself to see what makes them tick, what makes them different from humans, and we found notes that details so many things. Long story short: the man is a confirmed Necromancer.

Maev didn't want to talk to Tyrus, her attention was focused on Abad, the tiefling that was still alive. She broke him out of his chains and tends to his wounds. She finds out that he is from outside the walls and was with his village when they were raided by the royal guard and sold into slavery at the Auction House. He and his wife, Agatha, lost their baby son, Gadriel on the walk to the walls. He relays to Maev the horrors Tyrus has performed on the dead tiefling, and demands for a knife to put Tyrus down.

Tyrus really tries talking his way out of this one, but as soon as he reveals he's been up to no good, he is tied and captured to be taken in for justice. We find books detailing his works, who's died from things (We failed to follow up on this bad boy), and it's decided that Abad needs to flee the city. The party takes Tyrus' carriage into town after stuffing him in the portable hole. Maev, Hush and Tsapps takes splits off and takes Tyrus to Simon, the cleric of the God of Justice, to give their report and properly book him into jail. Hush tries some hijinks and shenanigans that include failing to charm Simon into giving Hush a bed to sleep in. The report is given in the Zone of Truth, and we are instructed to return to court the next day for a proper hearing. Tsapps returns home, but Maev and Hush follow Tyrus and the Blackcloaks to the closest barrack so they can watch him over night.

The rest of the party takes Abad to Queen Pheobe's nearest safeish location so he can be smuggled out. Shaq uses his connections to ensure he's snuck out properly and the party retires to their prospective locations for the night.

The next morning, the party makes their way to the court house, and a recap session begins; this time in front of an audience and in a much stronger zone of truth. Tsapps, Maev and Hush recount the party's escapades from the previous night, but leave out mentioning Abad to protect him. When their validity is questioned, Mouse steps forward to vouch for the party. Not as mouse, mind you, but as Crown Princess Elizabeth Von Dunlap. The court room fell silent and Simon demands that Elizabeth takes her rightful place and run the court session.

Tyrus panics at the change of events and realizes what hole he's been tossed in. The beans start spilling now, and it is revealed there is a society of Necromancers known as the Grey Society. He names the King, Lady Syldor (spelling??), Tyrus himself, Ober of the Temple of Zenith and Lady Kayln were all involved in Necromancy.

It is then the court pauses before panic begins. The King? To practice Necromancy is a huge crime. Elizabeth commands the court the shut and lock the doors while our thoughts are being gathered. She then demands that any court powers of the accused to be revoked. The accused is to be brought into court and word spread to the streets once a full story and information is gathered. She names us party members as inquisitors to work with the Royal Guard and the Blackcloaks until the investigation is complete. She also asks the students to create a jury of well trusted members in the society so that a fair trial is given.

Long story short, things blow up and out of proportion quickly. until the next session that is....
